Get Inspired, Not Intimidated

Another one of the mistakes that we all make while trying to learn guitar is to compare our playing with other accomplished players, and get intimidated if we find someone playing way better than what we can do..

The root of this problem is not only giving rise to negativity in your learning process, but it's one of the biggest motivation killers if you don't learn to get rid of this early...

I've been through this myself during my initial days of learning, where I would constantly question myself, whether I would ever be able to play like someone else... It's only later that I realized that it doesn't really matter whether I would be able to play like someone else or not, because I AM NOT SOMEONE ELSE!

Every person who picks up the instrument has their own story to tell, you have your own story to tell... why would you want to turn it into a remake of someone else's story... You guitar learning struggles and accomplishments are your very own and unique... Your life is full of beautiful things to appreciate, and things that you are working on to change... and when you come out of this successfully, you not only are much more capable than what you once thought would be impossible, you also have a better understanding of the overall process... This will lead you to help other people get inspired and learn from you...

So the next time you see a guitar player or musician who's better than you, don't get intimidated by their skill or knowledge, instead get inspired and find out how they got to where they are...

Lay down a clear path for yourself to achieve what you want to achieve in your playing, while considering your life situations..

Most of all... Tell yourself that.. I'll reach my guitar playing dreams, no matter what life throws at me...

If you adopt this approach early on in your learning, you'll be able to make faster progress and consistently develop into a more open minded musician...
